US: Stranger Things Promotes Season Four, Mad Apple's New Show in Las Vegas, San Antonio's Poisonous Exhibit, and More

GLOBAL: Stranger Things has released a new season after taking a three-year break following season three. To promote season four, Netflix took to different landmarks around the world to broadcast the Stranger Things logo, plus other elements from the show—including characters and music—onto the buildings' facades. Most notably, Netflix lit up the top of the Empire State Building in New York City in a glowing red color, with the logo projected below. Similar promotions took place on Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia; at the Gateway of India in Mumbai, India; at the Kuala Lumpur Tower in Menara Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and more.

LAS VEGAS: Mad Apple—a new,  Las Vegas-based production by Cirque du Soleil—celebrated its debut at local hotel New York-New York Hotel & Casino. Notable attendees on opening night included Anderson .Paak, Reilly Smith, Deryk Engelland, Shea Theodore, Aaron Goodwin, and more. A high-energy cocktail of comedy, music, dance, and high-flying acrobatics, Mad Apple delivers New York’s wildest night out under Vegas' lights. To see the show, tickets are available on Cirque du Soleil's website for $59. 

NEW YORK: MTV announced that Jack Black will be honored at the 2022 MTV Movie and TV Awards with the “Comedic Genius Award.” Black will be the fifth recipient of this award, which honors an actor who has made unparalleled contributions to the world of comedy. The 2022 MTV Movie and TV Awards will be held on June 5 and hosted by actress Vanessa Hudgens. 

The 14th Annual GET WILD Benefit will be held on June 25 and hosted by The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center. The benefit will have live music, cocktails, light fare, and a silent auction for guests to enjoy. Bridget Fleming and Karen Johnson, DVM, will both be honored at this year’s benefit, held at Swans Crossing in Southampton Village from 5-7 p.m. All proceeds from the evening will benefit the native wildlife treated at the rescue center’s hospital. 

SAN ANTONIO: A new exhibit titled The Power of Poison has debuted at the Witte Museum. Here, guests will explore poison's role in nature as they journey through Colombia's ChocĂł Forest and come across plants on magical parchment, dart frogs, caterpillars, and more. Tickets are available on the Witte Museum's website and are $16 for children aged four to 11 and $20 for adults.
