CANADA: Edmonton Heritage Festival, Niagara Falls’ Barbecue Event, an End-of-Summer Celebration in Vancouver, and More

EDMONTON: The three-day Edmonton Heritage Festival takes place July 30-Aug. 1 from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. daily for guests to sample food and see live performances to experience Canada’s wide range of cultures. Free programming will be spread out across 60 outdoor pavilions and more than 25 stages throughout Hawrelak Park.

NIAGARA FALLS: The Niagara Parks Power Station opened to the public in 2021, and on July 1 it will debut the second phase of the architecturally stunning destination. Phase two will allow guests to travel 180 feet down the tailrace tunnel in a glass-walled elevator to emerge beside the base of Horseshoe Falls on a new viewing platform extending into the river. The Fallsview Casino Backyard BBQ kicked off on June 23 and is running until Sept. 1, featuring local food and drink vendors and free live music overlooking Niagara Falls from 4-10 p.m. daily. Vendors include Marble Slab Creamery, Johnny Rocco’s Pizza Wagon, and Fallsview Backyard Eats. Performances will take place courtesy of DJ Vibe, Cory Cruise, Serena & Nick, Alex Barber, and more. All ages are welcome, and a full lineup is available on Fallsview Casino Resort’s website.

TORONTO: Now through Aug. 28, Union Summer Presented by TD is hosting free programming that includes dynamic music, live performances, cuisine, film, and so much more outside of Toronto’s Union Station. The 63-day market will also feature takeout foods from vendors located inside Union Station, plus on-site outposts of Gus Tacos, Mikey’s Smashburgers, Butter Chicken Roti, and more. VANCOUVER: The Pacific National Exhibition (PNE Fair) returns with its end-of-summer event at The GMC Stage at the PNE Amphitheatre Aug. 20-Sept. 5. Nightly at 8:30 p.m., fairgoers can enjoy performances from pop, rock, country, and R&B artists. Other performances will include acrobats, the SuperDogs show, the Flying Fools High Dive show, and more. Tickets can be reserved online starting at $15.
