BOSTON: Kevin Matheson has been named general manager of the Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall Boston, a 163-room property with a 400-square-foot, AV-equipped boardroom for meetings. Most recently, Matheson served as area general manager for Colwen Hotels, overseeing all aspects of the AC Boston North Hotel, the Towneplace Suites Medford, and the Fairfield Inn Medford.

LONG BEACH, CALIF.: Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, in partnership with local investment and development group Pacific6, has announced the redevelopment of the famed Breakers Hotel in Long Beach. Originally opened in the 1920s, the property will now be reimagined to feature 185 boutique hotel rooms and suites, a rooftop pool and terrace, a two-story space and fitness center, a live jazz club and music lounge, and more than 12,000 feet of event space.
NEW YORK: Disney Junior is hosting “Glow Webs Glow,” a family friendly fan event in New York to celebrate the second season of Marvel's show Spidey and His Amazing Friends. Taking place Aug. 13-14 at the Battery Conservancy, the event includes an interactive web course activity for kids to test their Spidey skills, plus a walkthrough of a life-sized Spider Crawl-R team transport vehicle and multiple, fun photo opportunities.
