De Santis is a third-generation entrepreneur and the CEO of Grand Hotel Tremezzo in Lake Como, Italy, which her family has owned since 1973. BOCA RATON, FLA.: Now through Jan. 3, 2023, the Boca Raton Museum of Art is presenting Reginald Cunningham: Black Pearls, the first-ever museum exhibition of Cunningham’s work, which focuses on urban style and portraiture. The museum has commissioned the artist—who’s known for his brand BePureBlack.com—for a new series of photographs to honor the nearby neighborhood of Pearl City, which is celebrated as one of the earliest and longest-lasting African American neighborhoods in Florida. Tickets are available online and are free for museum members, children, and students with IDs.
HUNTSVILLE, ALA.: Lifestyle hotel 106 Jefferson has appointed chef Jarrod Himes to the executive leadership team where he will lead the 115-room property’s dining concepts and culinary team. He will also oversee 106 Jefferson’s two on-site dining options, Revivalist and Baker & Able. Himes brings 20-plus years of experience to the role and plans to develop menus with fresh ingredients, southern flavor, and nods to his time spent working in Washington, D.C., Miami, San Francisco, Virginia Beach, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico.
NEW YORK: The Plaza Hotel has appointed Luigi Romaniello as managing director of the luxury property. Effective immediately, Romaniello will oversee all aspects of the hotel, including daily operations, guest experiences, and ongoing growth strategies in the role. The seasoned hospitality veteran brings 30 years of experience to the role with a resume that includes a 22-year tenure with Rosewood Hotels & Resorts where he led three consecutive openings in international markets.
Buglisi Dance Theatre and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, in partnership with Dance/NYC, are performing Table of Silence Project 9/11 live. The annual, free public ritual will also be livestreamed via Lincoln Center’s website. The piece will feature more than 100 dancers on Josie Robertson Plaza, the sounds of a conch shell, and choreography by Jacqulyn Buglisi.
