CALGARY: Pumpkins After Dark has taken over Canada Olympic Park now through Oct. 31 with larger-than-life pumpkin displays carved to resemble classic Halloween characters, plus dinosaurs, dragons, and movie and pop culture icons. The family-friendly event boasts more than 6,000 hand-carved pumpkins, plus live pumpkin carving demonstrations and fall treats. Tickets are available via Pumpkins After Dark’s website.
TORONTO: The Toronto Council Fire Indigenous Legacy Gathering is a two-day program designed to support the Indigenous Canadian community. Taking place Sept. 29-30 at Nathan Phillips Square, programming includes a sunrise ceremony, stage presentations with cultural performances, educational workshops, and a marketplace. Attendees can also expect on-site food vendors to serve up indigenous and indigenous-fusion cuisine. Admission is free.
From Sept. 30-Oct. 1, the grounds of Casa Loma will be transformed into Legends of Horror, an immersive theatrical experience. Participants will stroll through a two-kilometer trail—starting in the lower gardens of Casa Loma and winding through the castle’s tunnels—as they’re introduced to theatrical sets and haunted characters. Legends of Horror removes audience members from a traditional playhouse and immerses them in the theatrical setting. Tickets to the show are now available on Casa Loma’s website.
VANCOUVER: The Halloween Costume Ball is returning to Science World on Oct. 29 from 9 p.m.-2 a.m. For the 15th edition of the annual event, guests are invited to dress up in their best costume and explore the spooky space which, this year, spans three rooms across two floors with five full bars. Tickets are available on MyZone ranging $55-$75.
WINNIPEG: Heebie Jeebies, a haunted maze experience, is running Oct. 6-31. The experience consists of four mazes that last up to 12 minutes. Attendees can expect fog, strobe lights, special effects, and more than 100 actors sure to give them a fright. And when not in a maze, three on-site food trucks, free hot chocolate, carnival games, bonfires, fireworks, and more will keep guests entertained.
