CALGARY: The Dancing Queen on 17th Avenue is hosting a Mamma Mia!-inspired dining experience on Nov. 11 and 12. The boozy event will immerse guests in the beloved movie with musical performances and cuisine reminiscent of the Greek islands. Tickets are now on sale via Hidden for $99.
EDMONTON: Returning for its fifth year, DARK is taking place now through Oct. 30 at Fort Edmonton Park. For $45 per ticket, attendees can expect scary costumed characters, local food trucks, themed cocktails, and a live DJ. Guests can choose from one of three “Haunts:” Under the Big Top with a haunted circus act featuring killer clowns; Blood Harvest, where farm owners make a deal with a primeval spirit to collect souls for harvest; and 3AM Dead of Night, which immerses participants in a supernatural world.
TORONTO: Every Thursday-Sunday from sundown to 11 p.m. now through Oct. 31, Halloween Nights of Lights will take over CF Sherway Gardens at 25 The West Mall. The walk-through experience immerses guests in 45 minutes of animated displays synchronized to Halloween-themed music, made of more than 1.5 million LED and RGB lights. Guests will wind through tunnels and continue into Pumpkinville, a fair located at the Nights of Lights trail. Here, expect pumpkin sculptures, fun photo ops, amusement rides, games, and more. Tickets are available online, and Pumpkinville admission is free with a Nights of Lights ticket.
The Toronto After Dark Film Festival is back for its 16th edition Oct. 19-23 at Scotiabank Theatre. The five-night film fest will feature about 40 new horror, sci-fi, and action movies, chosen out of thousands of entries from filmmakers around the world. A full schedule has been released on Toronto After Dark Film Festival’s website, and all-access passes start at $99.
