BANFF: Banff is inviting patrons on ghost walks now through November to explore the town’s spooky history. Guests can expect to enter the paranormal and hear stories of cursed landmarks, unsolved mysteries, and haunted hotels. Tours begin at 7 p.m., are an hour and 40 minutes long, and begin at Good Earth Coffeehouse on Banff Avenue. Aspiring attendees can reserve a time slot on Discover Banff Tours’ website. TORONTO: The annual imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival returns to Toronto for its 23rd edition Oct. 18-23. The itinerary was curated by Festival Curatorial Advisor Rhéanne Chartrand alongside festival programmers Cole Forrest, Leo Koziol, and Paul Seesequasis and will include viewings of more than 100 short films across 13 programs, plus 17 feature films by Indigenous creators from around the world. Screenings will take place at the TIFF Bell Lightbox, Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema, and the Artscape Sandbox. VANCOUVER: The Vancouver Aquarium is celebrating Halloween with “Fin-tastic Fall Days,” where guests are invited to participate in a slew of seasonal activities. For example, brave patrons can reach inside covered tanks and guess what they touched (think: crabs, sea stars, and sea cucumbers). Attendees will also be able to meet the aquarium’s spookier residents, such as a rainbow-colored boa, a hissing cockroach, and a Brazilian tarantula. The aquarium will also serve up seasonal eats through Oct. 31, including seafood chowder, sweet potato poutine, hot apple cider, and more. Tickets go for $42 and can be reserved online.
