US: Valor Hospitality’s New Global Property, Christmas Eve with City Cruises Chicago, a Reimagined Nutcracker Performance, and More

GLOBAL: Global, full-service hotel management company Valor Hospitality Partners has announced the signing of its newest property, IntercityHotel Tashkent, in franchise partnership with Deutsche Hospitality. The 122-key property is set to open in Q1 of 2023 and marks Valor Hospitality’s second outpost in Uzbekistan. Upon opening, it will boast offerings that cater to both business and leisure travelers, including a full-service gym, a deluxe spa and indoor swimming pool, plus two on-site dining outlets.

NATIONAL: Lotte Hotels & Resorts has welcomed Gustavo Sarago to the role of chief development officer, Americas. He will be responsible for growing Lotte’s collection of lifestyle and luxury brands—across Lotte, L7, and Signiel—with a focus on gateway cities, tech centers, and resort destinations. Sarago brings extensive leadership experience to the role, having previously worked as the senior vice president, head of hospitality and leisure group, at AIG Global Real Estate.

CHICAGO: City Cruises Chicago is inviting guests aboard its glass-enclosed Odyssey vessel for a Christmas Eve Premier Plus Brunch Cruise, taking place Dec. 24 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Guests can expect to dine on a three-course brunch with sweeping views of the Chicago River in the background. There’s also a Christmas Eve Premier Dinner Cruise on offer where, in addition to a three-course meal, attendees can expect a live DJ, festive cocktails, and panoramic views of Lake Michigan. Tickets are available online.

CORAL SPRINGS, FLA.: The Coral Springs Center for the Arts is hosting its 10th season of The Hip Hop Nutcracker, a redesigned performance of Tchaikovsky’s 130-year-old ballet. To date, it has been performed more than 200 times in 70 cities, and this year it will be presented on Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased on the arts center’s website and start at $42.27.

LOS ANGELES: West Hollywood’s luxury hotel Petit Ermitage has announced Albert Charbonneau as its new area general manager. In the role, Ermitage will oversee the property’s day-to-day operations, including the recently acquired Elsewhere in Topanga. Charbonneau has more than 28 years of experience in boutique hotel management, having previously worked at L’Ermitage Beverly Hills, Shutters on the Beach, and the Ritz-Carlton.
