CANADA: Heli Purchases Great Canadian Heli-Skiing, HOTEL X's New Year's Eve Bash, IMPACT Returns to Victoria, and More

GOLDEN, B.C.: Heli announced today that it closed on the purchase of Great Canadian Heli-Skiing and Heather Mountain Lodge, located halfway between Golden and Revelstoke, B.C. at the east gate of Glacier National Park. The lodge and ski tenure will continue to operate as a leader in boutique heli-skiing and a summer gateway to Canada's Glacier National Park. Great Canadian Heli-Skiing was founded in 1988 and operates operates in the legendary Purcell and Selkirk mountain ranges.

MONTRÉAL: Tourisme MontrĂ©al has launched an assistance program for tourist events, festivals, and museum exhibitions by issuing a call for projects for events taking place between July 1 and Dec. 31, 2023. This is an opportunity to gain financial support for events planned for 2023. The aid allocated is intended to support festivals, museum exhibitions, and tourist events that can elevate Montreal, and Quebec, to national and international stages. 

NIAGARA FALLS, ONT.: Niagara Falls Convention Centre (NFCC) has partnered with the non-profit organization KultureCity as a part of its commitment to make the center more accessible and inclusive to everyone attending an event. With this partnership, NFCC has become the first convention center in Canada to be Certified Sensory Inclusive by KultureCity. To receive this new certification, the NFCC team was trained by leading medical professionals to better recognize guests with sensory needs and how to handle sensory overload situations. In addition to training, the NFCC is now outfitted with sensory bags that guests can borrow during the event as well as dedicated quiet spaces they're welcome to visit at any point. 

TORONTO: Celebrate New Year's Eve at Valerie—located on the 27th and 28th floors of HOTEL X—with a ball and prime views of the city. Dubbed the Black & White Ball, patrons here will be able to enjoy oyster and sushi bars, appetizers, and music by DJ KALI. Doors open at 8 p.m. Early bird tickets start at $80. 

VICTORIA, B.C.: Taking place Jan. 22-25, 2023 for its sixth year is THE IMPACT Sustainability Travel & Tourism Conference, which was created with the goal of aligning the Canadian tourism industry, as well as stakeholders and communities touched by tourism, behind a vision to achieve economic, social, and environmental sustainability. The Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada and the Travel Tourism Research Association are back as IMPACT’s strategic partners, guiding the programing. Also back again this year will be the popular PechaKucha (a storytelling format that is quick and impactful), offering real climate solutions to be implemented now.
