GLOBAL: Hyatt Hotels has announced the opening of Zoëtry Marigot Bay St. Lucia, part of Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection. The resort marks the Zoëtry’s debut into the destination of St. Lucia, situated in the Lesser Antilles of the Windward Islands. The property features 124 luxury rooms, comprising penthouse residences, master suite residences, and junior suites; and it offers options that come with plunge pools, fully equipped kitchens, rain showers, a private butler, and more. The resort is located on one of the marinas of Marigot Bay, offering easy access to popular attractions like volcanic mountainous areas and historic landmarks.
NATIONAL: The Hotel Association of Canada is asking its members to complete a survey—created in collaboration with Deloitte Canada— to assess the Canadian hotel sector’s unique workforce challenges and develop bold ideas to support a full recovery. An expanded air transport agreement was announced between Canada and Colombia, which allows designated airlines of both countries to operate an unlimited number of passengers and cargo flights within Canada and Colombia. This is a significant upgrade from the previous accord, which allowed only 14 passenger and 14 cargo flights per week. Canada is one of the critical markets for issuing international travelers to Colombia. In the last five years, Canada's tourist numbers arriving in the South American country have had an average growth of 48.28%.
