US: REVOLT Appoints Leader of New Events Division, Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine Launches Experiential Franchise, and More

GLOBAL: Global events agency emc3 has appointed Natalie Walker as strategy director. The agency has been focused on growing its strategic experience design offering, with a comprehensive suite of workshops covering everything from team alignment to goal-setting, and in-depth research and analysis in several critical areas, such as audience behavior, AI, and emerging technology and sustainable event delivery. Walker initially joined emc3 as a freelancer, then joined the company as an employee in 2021 as their senior content strategist.

LOS ANGELES: Black-owned multimedia network REVOLT has announced that Anita Martin has joined the team as vice president of events and experiential. Martin—who has previously worked at General Electric—will be responsible for leading the new events division at REVOLT, including launching REVOLT WORLD, an annual festival that brings together some of the most influential voices in hip-hop for a weekend of networking, performances, and thought-provoking discussions. She will also oversee the planning and execution of a portfolio of bespoke events aimed at inspiring the next generation of creatives and facilitating opportunities for them to connect and thrive.

MIAMI: Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation to appeal to a younger demographic. The overhaul includes a new restaurant, Gold Coast Kitchen + Cocktails, which serves up local coastal cuisine. The property also added Marriott's member's only club, the M Club, the first in Miami proper. 

NASHVILLE: Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine has announced the launch of Shine Away, a new experiential franchise for consumers. The marquee event, created in collaboration with AT&T, will bring the Hello Sunshine community together for a day of connection, entertainment, and joy. It'll take place June 17 at the JW Marriott Nashville. The event will feature curated programming, bespoke activations, and robust digital content. Hello Sunshine founder Reese Witherspoon and AT&T chief marketing and growth officer Kellyn Smith Kenny will open the event with an in-depth conversation that explores the power of connection.

NEW YORK: On April 25, City Harvest, New York City's first and largest food rescue organization, presented "The 40th Anniversary Gala: House of Harvest," hosted by actor, model, and producer Tyson Beckford, with dĂ©cor by celebrity event planner Colin Cowie. The evening raised $5 million, enough to provide more than 9.6 million meals for New Yorkers in need as they continue to grapple with record-high food costs, the end of federal aid programs, and the continued economic impacts of the pandemic.
