CALGARY: Pride in Business is hosting Pride in Art, an evening of queer art and networking, May 26 from 6-10 p.m. Taking place at the Sky Garden on the 54th floor of The Bow, the event is an opportunity to meet local queer artists whose works will be featured in an exhibition, as well as network with professionals, entrepreneurs, business owners, and artists.
OTTAWA: The 2023 Orléans Craft Beer Festival will take place June 8-10 at the Centrum Plaza outdoors. The festival presented by S&R Mechanical will take place rain or shine, with large tents spanning most of the festival grounds. It will feature a combination of craft beers, wines, spirits, food, and live entertainment, as well as the inaugural charity beer run—The Blood, Sweat, and Beers run—that will help raise funds for the Orléans Cumberland Resource Centre.
TORONTO: Liberty Entertainment Group is kicking off its summer programming with Symphony in the Gardens at Casa Loma. Maestro Paolo Busato and his Casa Loma Symphony Orchestra are returning to the Glass Pavilion and the Gardens with special guest vocalists and players for Monday evening performances beginning June 5. The second summer entertainment program will be Soul in the City with Juno Award-winning vocalist Sean Jones accompanied by his seven-piece band, the Righteous Echo. Soul in the City will be every Tuesday, beginning June 20.
The 34th annual Word On The Street Festival—Canada’s largest free outdoor book and magazine festival—will take place May 27-28 at Queen’s Park Crescent East. Featuring Canadian and Indigenous authors, the festival was voted one of Toronto’s best local festivals in the 2022 Toronto Star Readers' Choice Awards. Festival programming will include featured authors, panel discussions, readings, and more while also featuring nearly 100 exhibitors.
