EDMONTON: K-Days—the 10-day fest of music, rides, food, and shopping that runs July 21-30 at the Edmonton EXPO Centre exhibition grounds—has announced its 2023 concert lineup. Some of the artists and entertainers taking the stage this year include pop singer-songwriter and producer Elijah Woods, rock band Three Days Grace, rock ’n’ roll phenomenon Quiet Riot, Canadian singer-songwriter Ruby Waters, and Canadian indie pop duo and LGBTQ+ activists Tegan and Sara.
TORONTO: Canadian Music Week Festival returns June 5-10. Now in its 41st year, the event is a blend of daytime sessions and trade expo events for music industry professionals, plus nighttime shows featuring almost 1,000 artists slated at over 50 of Toronto’s best music venues.
VANCOUVER: The government of Canada has announced a major investment in the forthcoming Chinese Canadian Museum, which will open July 1. This includes funding from both the Department of Canadian Heritage and the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada (PacifiCan). The museum will honor the history, contributions, and living heritage of Chinese Canadians. The funding will be used for renovations to the museum's permanent home in the Wing Sang Building, the oldest building in Vancouver's Chinatown. It will also go toward the museum's inaugural exhibit, "The Paper Trail to the 1923 Chinese Exclusion Act."
VICTORIA, B.C.: Destination Greater Victoria is inviting residents to participate in a series of engagement sessions and an online survey to provide input and feedback on the future development and direction of tourism in the region. Feedback collected from residents will help inform the development of a multi-stakeholder, 10-year Tourism Master Plan for Greater Victoria. This comprehensive plan will guide strategic planning, development, and initiatives for the region's visitor economy over the next decade. Residents can have their say at upcoming public town hall-style events May 31 and June 1.
