CANADA: Dr. Jane Goodall to Give Keynote in Toronto, North Saanich Flavour Trails Festival, Ambleside Music Festival, and More

MONTREAL: Halfway through the tourist season, Tourisme Montréal reveals a positive portrait of this season, which exceeds forecasts. To date, the city has welcomed 100% of the visitors who came during the same period in 2019. While Americans and French are still in the majority, the organization notes a significant increase of 10% in the number of visitors from other countries, with 30% more tourists from the United Kingdom, Mexico, and Brazil. Forecasts are also optimistic for the rest of the season: A 6% increase in total passenger volume is expected until October.

OTTAWA: Bridgehead, a beloved Ottawa neighborhood coffeehouse, is now open in the departure gate area at Ottawa International Airport (YOW). Although Bridgehead has been a staple of the Ottawa coffee landscape for more than two decades, this is the first time Bridgehead coffee has been available "to go" into the skies. The new airport location also offers freshly roasted Bridgehead coffee beans for Ottawa travelers to take a taste of home with them on their travels.

TORONTO: The Jane Goodall Institute of Canada announced that Dr. Jane Goodall, the world-renowned ethologist and environmentalist, will make a special appearance at Meridian Hall on Oct. 12. This highly anticipated event will offer an incredible opportunity for Torontonians to hear directly from Goodall about her groundbreaking work and insights into the urgent issues of conservation and climate change. The evening will feature an inspiring keynote address by Goodall herself, during which she will share her experiences in the field and her "reasons for hope."

VANCOUVER: Ambleside Music Festival is back. The live music fest returns Aug. 19-20 at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver. Headliners include Weezer, Third Eye Blind, and Saint Motel. This year, Ambleside Music Festival and Okanagan Wine Festival have announced a new partnership: General admission ticket holders over 19 will have access to the Okanagan Wine Festival's tent, featuring an array of Okanagan wines, while VIP weekend pass holders can also try exclusive tastings and premium wine offerings by the glass in the designated VIP area.

VICTORIA, B.C.: The North Saanich Flavour Trails Festival returns Aug. 18-20 at the Sandown Centre for Regenerative Agriculture. The weekendlong festival features a self-guided tour of local farms, producers, and small businesses and a two-day market featuring local vendors, live music, food trucks, games, and more.
