CALGARY: On Oct. 5, 12, and 19, head to Fort Calgary for a night of signature cocktails, creepy crimes, and scary stories as you take an eerie twilight walk through the museum. Tour guides and lovers of creepy tales Natalie Heaton and Zack Beer will guide eventgoers through a two-hour walking tour of Fort Calgary and the surrounding land while telling tales of executions, ghosts, and murders. Tickets include the tour and two drinks (both alcoholic and nonalcoholic options are available).
EDMONTON: Edmonton International Airport (YEG) will be completing important infrastructure upgrades to the Departures Roadway on Level Two starting Sept. 26, which will close the elevated roadway and require relocation of the passenger pickup and drop-off areas. During the construction period, the Departures Roadway adjacent to the terminal will be temporarily closed to all traffic. The lower-level Arrivals Roadway will be closed to personal vehicles and open only to commercial vehicles and passengers requiring accessible access.
TORONTO: Happening now through Sept. 30, Just For Laughs Toronto is an interactive festival featuring headlining comedy acts and hundreds of the funniest performers. This includes Ronny Chieng, the "Office Ladies" (aka Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey from The Office), and Leslie Jones. Events take place at various locations around Toronto.
Running now through Oct. 1, the Toronto International Festival of Authors (TIFA) is Canada’s largest and longest-running literary festival. Its 44th edition features over 200 events and activities, offering distinctive interviews and conversations for every kind of book lover, plus a range of recurring series. The festival will also feature special performances from Theater of War and The Moth.
VANCOUVER: Land of Thundering Snow is a traveling exhibit that aims to teach visitors about avalanches, including the impact that avalanches have had on human settlement, migration, travel, and transportation. From the mapping of railways and highways to the technological advances of avalanche mitigation, the story of avalanches encompasses the story of humans and landscape and ties them together for museum visitors in an engaging and interactive experience. The exhibit will be at Britannia Mine Museum beginning Oct. 6.
