How I got here:
I started in the sports industry working in community relations. My love for the event portion of my roles led me to the meeting planning world. I started at the AOA in a coordinator role and have worked my way up the ranks, learning so much along the way.
Specific improvement I’ve made:
Since coming on board at the AOA, I have implemented the use of a mobile app, which allowed us to eliminate the need for a printed program. I also spearheaded the transition from printed educational posters to electronic posters. Going forward, our annual meetings will have reusable water bottles and we will be donating leftover food to the local community in need.
What I am working on now:
This year, we are introducing live streaming, which is something I’ve been interested in offering our attendees for several years now, but it, unfortunately, was never approved in our budget in the past. With the way COVID-19 is affecting the in-person meetings industry, it’s great that technology can still keep us connected to our attendees around the world.
