What I do:
I help companies leverage their events as an extension of their overall customer engagement strategy. Each meeting, whether a training session or a national conference, should be a memorable experience.

How I got here:
I’ve known I wanted to work as a meeting planner since high school. I targeted positions that would help me gain a deep understanding of both the supplier and planner side of the industry.

My greatest career accomplishment:
Right before the pandemic hit, I started my own boutique corporate event planning company. Even with the lockdowns and sudden halt to events, I was able to grow the business and now have multiple clients across the U.S.

Impressive stats:
I managed the pivot of an annual, in-person user conference to an online platform due to COVID-19, successfully executing a virtual conference for over 1,100 attendees. The conference showcased 67 unique sessions within seven separate tracks that ran concurrently across three days and raised over $125,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. I cut expected attrition fees to deliver $36,000 in savings after Hurricane Florence.

A specific improvement I’ve made to my organization’s meetings program:
With COVID-19, there were a lot of opportunities to make significant changes and improvements. I helped to pivot many events to virtual for the first time and implement plans to produce turnkey events that are easily scalable and replicable.

What are you working on right now:
I’m currently building out a 2021 event schedule for a Midwestern homebuilder. Additionally, I’m working with a food and beverage company to revamp its customer engagement strategy.

What I do outside of work:
I like to spend my time painting, doing yoga and fostering rescue kittens.

Favorite vacation destination:
Anywhere in Big Sur, California. Not only is it absolutely breathtaking, it’s the only place I can really disconnect from work and everything else. There is no phone service so it forces you to take a vacation.

Favorite icebreaker line:
Hair tinsel! I head to networking events with a little extra sparkle in my hair. It always catches people’s attention and is a great way to start a natural conversation.

Travel hack:
I buy two of everything. One stays at home and one stays in my suitcase. When it comes time to travel again, I just need to pack my clothes and anything else I need for that specific trip. It makes packing quick and limits the possibility of forgetting something I’ll want or need.
