Over the last few months, you may have already gotten on board with Clubhouse, the self-described “drop-in audio app.” The app is currently available for iPhone users exclusively and it’s invite only. Still, in mere months, it’s already amassed millions of users—with that number growing by the week.

If all of this sounds altogether unfamiliar and you need Clubhouse 101, you’ll probably want to go back and read BizBash’s complete explainer first. But the quick-and-dirty overview is that this app is a chance to participate in—or just listen in on—audio-only discussions. (So no need to pretend you’re wearing clothes or makeup, like on Zoom.)

And because these conversations are often organized around particular themes—sometimes quite niche in nature—it’s a great way to get a deeper understanding of a topic, and/or announce yourself as a thought leader around an idea.

Think of it as similar to an education session or a panel discussion at a conference or trade show. Clubhouse conversations are not recorded, so there is that sense that you have to be there. And this element evokes aspects of live events like intimate, unique and right-place-at-the-right-time networking opportunities built on authentic connections and a dose of chemistry.

Event professionals are already engaging in a wide range of industry topics on the platform, building groups, raising their profiles and sharing knowledge—more and more by the day. If you’re on Clubhouse, here are 10 among them you should follow right now.
