Rogers & Cowan Acquires Spotlight, MTV Appoints New SVP

β€’ Rogers & Cowan acquired Spotlight Communications, the public relations and event planning firm, and on Monday placed Spotlight founder Maggie Gallant in the position of senior vice president at R&C. Gallant will be handling the lifestyle and entertainment accounts, as well as managing events for Discovery and Animal Plant, product launches, and movie premieres. She brings with her clients such as Hearst Magazines, Harper Collins, and OkCupid.com.

β€’ A 21-year veteran of MTV Networks, Bruce Gillmer began his position as senior vice president of talent and music for MTV Networks International in early October. Based in New York while also managing a team in London, Gillmer will oversee all talent aspects of regional sponsorship events as well as the upcoming MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool. His last post was as senior vice president of music/music programming.

β€’ Independent distillery William Grant & Sons appointed James Curich to the position of public relations director on Wednesday. Most recently, Curich oversaw the spirits, wine, and culinary division as vice president for the Susan Magrino Agency. He will manage public relations programming and work with the brand teams to conceptualize events for the 122-year-old family-owned business.

β€’ In early September, Francesca Simons started as account executive at Kravetz & Company Public Relations, where she heads up the fashion and accessories division and handles clients such as Manoush and Brighton Collectibles. Simons came from Shadow PR, where she was a junior account executive.
