VENUE: Sleek Romi

Romi is a bilevel bar and lounge in the financial district rich with black, brown and dark red furnishings. The street level has a large bar and cocktail seating and holds as many as 100. The second floor mezzanine lounge has groupings of leather sofas and club chairs accompanied by low cocktail tables. Also in the upstairs space, a backlit patterned wall bathes much of the lounge with an amber glow and rows of banquettes and clear red chairs paired with tables make for additional seating. The mezzanine holds 150. In February 2004, the owners will add two event rooms on the second floor with space for 300. —Mark Mavrigian
