People/Events/Accounts: News About PCMA Visionary Awards, Reggae Rise Up Vegas, Palm Beach Hot Pink Luncheon, and More

INDUSTRY NEWS: Ben Goedegebuure, vice president and global general manager of Maritz Global Events; Bill Grusich, senior vice president of Associated Luxury Hotels International; and Lisa Delpy Neirotti, director of the MS in sport management program at George Washington University, will receive Lifetime Achievement awards April 23 at PCMA Visionary Awards 2020. The event, which will be held April 23 at the Hilton Washington, D.C., also will recognize 18 Professional Excellence finalists.

BOSTON: Hyatt Regency Boston has named Matthew Danto associate director of sales and events. He started his hospitality career with Hilton in 2012 as front office supervisor at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton – Doheny Beach. In 2013, he transitioned into the sales world. Danto relocated from California in 2016, beginning his Hyatt career in Boston. Two years later, as a sales leadership award nominee, he was promoted to senior sales manager.

LAS VEGAS: Downtown Las Vegas Events Center will host the all-new Reggae Rise Up Vegas festival April 18-19. The two-day music extravaganza includes headlining performances from SoCal reggae-rock stars Slightly Stoopid and Dirty Heads.

LOS ANGELES: Tourism Australia will host a Los Angeles reception on January 27.

LOUISVILLE: The Louisville Zoo will host Wild Lights: Asian Lantern Festival from March 5 through April 25. Wild Lights will include a 131-foot-long dragon, a color-changing panda tree, and an African savanna display. It will be Louisville’s first-ever outdoor Chinese lantern festival. 

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: The Palm Beach Hot Pink Luncheon & Symposium will take place February 6 at the Breakers. Hosted by Aerin Lauder and Monique Lhuillier, the annual event will bestow its first Evelyn H. Lauder Humanitarian Award to Ronnie Heyman, a member on the advisory board of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The 19th Annual Players’ Wives Fashion Show will take place in the Miami Design District on January 31. The event comes on the heels of a holiday shopping in-store event at Alice & Olivia, which took place Friday, that was hosted by the Miami Design District and the Off the Field Players’ Wives Association. The retail experience was capped off with a concert by original "Dreamgirl" Jennifer Holliday. 

NEW YORK: Lauren Paris has been promoted to vice president of PR events and department manager at KCD, a fashion agency.
