LOS ANGELES: Johnnie's Coffee Shop on Wilshire Boulevard, which has been decorated with colorful murals of presidential candidate Bernie Sanders since 2016, reopened this week as "Bernie's Coffee Shop." The coffee shop will serve as a volunteer office for the campaign.

NEW ORLEANS: Alteryx’s user conference, Inspire North America, has become Analyticon and will be held June 1-4 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

NEW YORK: The Brooklyn Museum will honor hotel icon Ian Schrager, along with artist JR, April 21 when it hosts the ninth annual Brooklyn Artists Ball. The event will be themed around Studio 54, the legendary nightclub founded by Schrager that will be spotlighted in the museum’s Studio 54: Night Magic exhibit, which opens March 15. 

SAN FRANCISCO: A Stanford University postdoctoral research fellow has launched Conference Fund, a crowdfunding platform to help prospective academic conference attendees fund their participation in such events. 

WASHINGTON: J Public Relations is now representing the Jefferson Hotel. Originally built as a luxury apartment building, the 99-room restaurant features Plume, a Michelin-starred restaurant.
