CANADA: A Hybrid Film Festival, a Vegan Patio Series, a Ghostly Fundraiser, and More
CALGARY: The 294-room Sandman Signature Calgary Downtown Hotel opened earlier this month after a multimillion-dollar redesign, which includes refurbished guest rooms, revamped pool and fitness facilities, and access to a renovated Moxie's Grill & Bar.
EDMONTON: The 2020 Airshow at Villeneuve Airport has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2019 show had also been canceled due to wet fields, so organizers plan to honor 2019 tickets at the 2021 show.
MONTREAL: The Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM) announced that the 23rd annual festival will take place from Nov. 12 to Dec. 2, with events both in-person and online. The hybrid festival has been extended over a three-week period so it can host smaller in-person events that ensure proper social distancing. The film festival's program will be announced on Oct. 21.
TORONTO: The team behind Vegandale and Vegandale Festival have announced the first-ever vegan poolside patio summer series, which will take place at Grand Bizarre Beach Club Restaurant at Exhibition Place for four consecutive weekends starting Aug. 8. Guests will receive access to Bar Vegandale, Planta, Fat Choi, and Ital Vital at Grand Bizarre Beachclub Restaurant. Packages can be purchased in groups of two, four, and six.
VANCOUVER: Ghostly Vancouver Tours is hosting what it calls a "ghostly fundraiser" at the Stanley Theatre on Aug. 7. The tour company, known for its haunted history walking tours of the city, is raising money for the Arts Club Theatre.
