NATIONAL: On May 22, apparel company Lucky Brand is hosting “Less Noise, More Music,” an exclusive virtual concert event streamed live from Pioneer Town at Pappy and Harriet’s in Southern California. The event, which will premiere on Lucky Brand’s YouTube and Facebook pages and LiveXLive, will feature performances by emerging and established artists including Goody Grace, Blu DeTiger and Ritt Momney. The goal is to amplify the National Independent Venue Association’s #SaveOurStages movement.
Instagram will host its first-ever Creator Week from June 8-10. The three-day event will feature a series of virtual professional development programs for aspiring and emerging creators across Instagram and Facebook, designed to help them build their careers, support their well-being and connect them with their peers. There will also be global programming with Creator Week events happening virtually in France and markets throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Virtual event platform Hubilo is now the headline sponsor for Event Tech Live US & Canada, a virtual event taking place June 8-10. The three-day event will feature over 100 sessions, 125 speakers and more than 50 exhibitors.
ANAHEIM, CALIF.: The JW Marriott, Anaheim Resort has debuted its Secret Butterfly Garden, an interactive, augmented-reality experience where guests interact with a digital forest and sculpture garden using a mobile smartphone device. Located on the roof of the hotel, the installation was designed by L.A.-based studio HEAVY. One highlight of the unique space? Six hundred titanium butterflies that illuminate in different shades of blues depending on how the light shines on them.
LOUISVILLE, KY: Metallica, Nine Inch Nails and Korn will headline the 2021 Louder Than Life music festival, taking place Sept. 23-26 at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center. The event will feature nearly 70 musical acts over four days, with performances across three stages plus a variety of onsite food and beverage experiences and sponsor activations. In 2019, the event drew 128,000 fans.
