NATIONAL: Fertility Matters Canada has announced the inaugural Fertility Matters 6K, a national virtual event taking place Oct. 15-17. The 6K distance was chosen to represent the 6 million Canadians affected by fertility challenges, and proceeds will go towards achieving equitable access to fertility care across the country. Canadians are invited to bike, run, walk or wheel in their own communities, and share on social media using the hashtag #FertilityMatters6K along with why they are supporting the cause.
Event management software company Aventri and live video solutions platform Brandlive have announced a new partnership. Organizers can now use Brandlive’s Greenroom video production software and other content creation tools to bring TV-like virtual and hybrid events to the Aventri platform.
EDMONTON: Oilers Entertainment Group has announced that all fans attending events at Rogers Place will need to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. The requirement goes into effect on Sept. 28. The news follows a similar new protocol in Calgary, which is requiring that all fans be fully vaccinated to attend events at Scotiabank Saddledome and McMahon Stadium.
MONTREAL: After visits to Quebec City and Val-Morin, mobile beer garden Bière Garden is headed to Montreal from Sept. 10-11. The activation is a bus featuring a beer garden complete with tables, taps from nine breweries and live music from Mixbus, a traveling recording studio. The bus will be set up at Bassins Peel in Griffintown, and tickets start at $68 (or $25 for designated drivers).
Open-air neighborhood market SudBest takes place Aug. 28-29. Showcasing food, drink, live music and other culture from Montreal’s southwestern boroughs, the gathering is expected to draw nine restaurants, two food trucks and more than 20 vendors selling art and merchandise.
