MONTREAL: Since Halloween falls on a Sunday this year, Drag Brunch MTL and Time Out Market Montréal are teaming up for a Halloween-themed drag brunch. There are two brunch shows to choose from, with performances by Barbada de Barbade and menus from local star chefs; guests are encouraged to wear costumes, and tickets start at $42.56 each.
TORONTO: The 15th edition of Toronto’s Luminato Festival runs from Oct. 13-17. The international celebration of arts and culture will feature five days of art, music, dance and theater; this year’s event will travel through various neighborhoods in the city, bringing a mix of live and online events celebrating local culture creators.
Toronto is getting a new city park and outdoor market in Riverside. The Riverside Common Park will debut Oct. 17 in a collaboration with The Leslieville Flea Market; the event will feature speeches, live music, vendors selling clothes and vintage items, and an art pop-up from local artists. The market will run on various dates through Dec. 4.
VANCOUVER: The Eastside Arts Society has announced that the 25th anniversary of the Eastside Culture Crawl will take place Nov. 12-14 and Nov. 18-21. The event will allow attendees to visit the studios of over 400 local artists; it will also feature a virtual component, offering access to artists via virtual studio tours.
Dress for Success Vancouver, a nonprofit organization that empowers women into employment and financial independence, will host its annual luncheon on Nov. 3 at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver as well as virtually. Now in its ninth year, the Success Luncheon will feature inspiring stories, cocktails and a new boutique market shopping experience featuring jewelry, fashion, home goods and gifts. Virtual attendees will receive a catered lunch and exclusive virtual content.
