NATIONAL: Maritz, a 127-year-old global professional services company, has announced that Steve Maritz will move into an executive chairman role. This will follow Maritz’s nearly 25 years of leading the company as CEO and chairman. David Peckinpaugh, current president of Maritz Global Events, took over day-to-day management of Maritz Holdings as president and CEO effective Jan. 1.

PALM SPRINGS, CALIF: Azure Sky, a 14-room, 21-and-over luxury boutique hotel is slated to open this winter in South Palm Springs. The property, initially built in 1959, offers views of the San Jacinto Mountains from two large courtyards and a 4,500-square-foot pool surrounded by two fire pits and lounge seating. Overall, the hotel can accommodate as many as 120 for buyout events.
WASHINGTON, DC: The PCMA Foundation 2022 PCMA Visionary Awards, which were established to honor and celebrate the global business event industry’s stars, will be held on March 24 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Md. The celebration is in conjunction with the inaugural Business Events Industry Week, which is powered by Destinations International and PCMA and is a week dedicated to convening the global business event industry in the United States Association capital.
