NATIONAL: NexTech AR Solutions has teamed up with Restaurants Canada, the largest foodservice organization in Canada. Through the new partnership, Restaurants Canada will use NexTech’s virtual event platform for their own events, which will include 3D AR booths, human holograms, 3D AR product experiences and augmented-reality ads.

TORONTO: The 35th edition of the TD Toronto Jazz Festival will take place June 24 to July 3, after kicking off with an early performance by Herbie Hancock on April 22 at Meridian Hall. Other performers will include Smokey Robinson, Gregory Porter and Michael Kaeshammer.
Country music festival Boots & Hearts is slated to take place Aug. 4-7 at Burl’s Creek. The festival will be headlined by Shania Twain, Florida Georgia Line and Sam Hunt, and tickets are on sale now.
VANCOUVER: The 102nd Vancouver Polar Bear Swim took place on Jan. 1 as a virtual, at-home event. On New Year’s Day, participants were encouraged to adjust bathtubs or kiddie pools to 7 degrees Celsius, the average ocean water temperature of previous Polar Bear Swims, and share their experiences on social media. Registered participants received a commemorative certificate.
