US: 1-800-Flowers Expands Its Virtual Offerings, Fort Worth Convention Center’s Expansion, DIFFA’s New Event Series and More

NATIONAL: 1-800-Flowers.com Inc. has acquired Alice’s Table, further expanding its experiential offerings for customers. Alice’s Table, launched in 2015, offers fully virtual floral and culinary experiences to public event guests, as well as to private and corporate clients across the country. It joins 1-800-Flowers.com’s portfolio of more than a dozen gifting brands.

Live, hybrid and virtual event management company Canapii has launched a new partner program. The offering will empower event and production agencies to grow and expand their business by offering Canapii’s all-in-one event technology and event expertise to their clients.

FORT WORTH, TEXAS: The Fort Worth City Council has approved plans for a $500 million expansion to the Fort Worth Convention Center. The first phase, expected to begin in 2023, will construct new food and beverage facilities and loading docs, while the second phase will create more than 97,000 square feet of total exhibit hall space, along with flexible meeting rooms and a new 60,000-square-foot ballroom.

LOS ANGELES: The Los Angeles Convention Center, owned by the city of Los Angeles and managed by ASM Global, has named Ben Zarhoud as its new assistant general manager. He most recently served as vice president of finance at the convention center and has previously worked in senior management at AEG and AXS Group LLC.

NEW YORK: DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS) has officially launched DIFFA By Design, a new three-day immersive design experience taking place March 24-26 at Center 415. An evolved iteration of the Dining by Design event series, DIFFA By Design will offer installations, interactive experiences, events and more to raise awareness and funds to combat AIDS, homelessness, food scarcity and mental health issues across the country.
