CANADA: A Country-Wide Sustainable Seafood Fest, Collision Returns in Person, a 10-Day Hot Chocolate Fest and More

NATIONAL: The National Ocean Wise Seafood Festival, a Canada-wide celebration of sustainable seafood, is taking place Feb. 1-28. Nonprofit Ocean Wise Seafood is teaming up with more than 400 restaurants, grocery stores and seafood suppliers to serve dishes whose proceeds help in the fight against overfishing. 

Oddmund Braaten, Interprefy’s former COO, will take over as CEO of the Zurich, Switzerland-based company, which is a leading provider of managed remote simultaneous interpretation technology and services. Braaten takes over for outgoing CEO Annett Polaszewski-Plath, who helped the company double its revenue and team across 29 countries over the last two years.

TORONTO: International tech conference Collision will return to an in-person event this year, its first since 2019. The event will be held in Toronto from June 20-23. The conference, often nicknamed the “Olympics of Tech,” typically draws more than 30,000 people.

Stackt Market is teaming up with Hudson’s Bay and Bailey’s to host a 10-day hot chocolate festival from Feb. 11-12. Tickets are currently on sale for the opening-night party, which will feature live music, DJs, drinks and s’mores kits. Other events will include a drag brunch, Valentine’s Day themed cocktails, pop art card-making workshops and more.

VANCOUVER: Hidden Events’ Matt Hatter-inspired tea party—which has previously toured cities in Australia and the U.S.—is coming to Vancouver. 'The Alice: An Immersive Cocktail Experience' is a 90-minute dining event and show kicking off March 9 and running through mid-April. Attendees will be able to make their “teapot cocktails” and enjoy themed cakes and cookies.
