US: A New Rooftop Event Space, a ‘Top Gun’-Themed Fundraiser, ASAE and Event Farm’s New Partnership and More

NATIONAL: ASAE, a membership organization of more than 48,000 association executives, has partnered with event engagement company Event Farm to leverage CLEAR Health Pass at all its in-person meetings in 2022. ASAE meeting registrants will be able to securely upload and access their COVID-19-related health information prior to an event; the partnership will also utilize Event Farm's technology surrounding crowd control, contactless data exchange and real-time SMS texting.

AUSTIN: Two well-known comedy festivals—Moontower Comedy Festival and Just For Laughs—have partnered to present the inaugural Moontower Just For Laughs Austin fest, which will take place in downtown Austin from April 13-24. The two-week event will welcome comedians such as Nikki Glaser, Dan Soder, Deon Cole, Marc Maron, Mark Normand, Michelle Buteau, Jimmy O. Yang, Trevor Wallace, Big Jay Oakerson and many more.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA: On April 29, BrightStar Credit Union and the Broward Education Foundation will be hosting a “TOP FUN” fundraiser at the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort to benefit Broward County Public Schools students and teachers. The live event and online auction invites guests to wear flight suits and other attire inspired by the movie Top Gun.

NEW YORK: Karin Kopano has been named managing director of the upcoming Hard Rock Hotel New York, slated to debut in April with 446 guest rooms and a variety of bars and restaurants—plus The Venue on Music Row, a bi-level event and entertainment space. Kopano most recently served as managing director of The Knickerbocker Hotel.

SAN ANTONIO: The 1,003-room Grand Hyatt San Antonio River Walk has debuted Terrace on 5th, a 6,500-square-foot open-air rooftop event space. Overall, the hotel has more than 115,000 square feet of event space directly adjacent to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. Indoor venues include the 31,000-square-foot Texas Ballroom, one of the largest ballrooms in downtown San Antonio.
