EDMONTON: Edmonton's Sea Change Brewing Company, along with collaborators Foundry Events, has announced the lineup for its 2022 Super Friendly Fest. Taking place Sept. 10-11 at Union Hall, the 18-plus event will be headlined by Propagandhi and Protest the Hero and will include a 20th anniversary set from the Flatliners. Tickets are on sale now.
LONDON, ONTARIO: The Country Music Association of Ontario will host the CMAOntario Awards on June 5. The 10th-anniversary award show at Centennial Hall will cap off a weekend of all-ages live music events throughout the city, running from June 2-5.
OTTAWA: The 70th edition of the Canadian Tulip Festival will take place in person this spring after being held virtually in 2020 and 2021. The event includes a mixture of free and paid events, including nighttime free movie screenings with the National Film Board, daily tulip bingo, a nighttime guided tour and more. The event runs from May 13-23.
The Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival, billed as North America’s largest dragon boat festival, will take place June 23-26 in Mooney’s Bay Park. The free-for-spectators event typically boasts 200 competing teams, along with concerts, sports demonstrations, exhibitors, food stands, a children’s area and more.
VANCOUVER: Following a nearly three-year break during the pandemic, one of the country’s largest Super Smash Bros tournaments will return from June 10-12 on the UBC campus. The Battle of BC 4 event is hosted by UBC Esports and Galint Gaming and will feature competition for both Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Super Smash Bros. Melee; players will have a chance to qualify for the Smash World Tour Championship in December.
