Jacqueline M. Pacheco, 36
Event Planner, WorldatWork, Scottsdale, Ariz
What I do:
I have the honor of bringing visions to life. It’s a magical process configured by using florals, food, lighting and decor. The best part of my job is providing a wow moment for the individuals attending and the client. That wow moment is what keeps me striving to be the best.
My greatest career accomplishment:
Earning my way to be the lead planner for an annual conference that included 3,500 attendees, educational sessions, off-site lunches and dinners, and an exhibit hall.
Impressive stats:
I have had the pleasure of reducing past event budgets by 5% to 10% and negotiating 20% to 30% discounts on elements of event contracts. Some of my best stats came from a period when I worked closely with small businesses. I taught them how to market themselves through social media platforms, and was able to help these companies increase their overall social media presence by 85%.
A specific improvement I’ve made:
I was the driving force behind creating our meeting logistics document. This document houses all elements of a project in one place so they can be easily accessed by all departments.
What are you working on right now:
Currently, we have a combination of virtual and in-person events that I am thrilled to have a role in managing and planning.
What I do outside of work:
I enjoy equestrian riding. I am out at the barn four to five afternoons a week. When I am not riding, you can find me lending a helping hand by cleaning stalls or grooming horses. It is my escape from the stresses of the world.
Favorite vacation destination:
One of my favorite work holidays was in Kapalua, HI, when we planned an event at The Ritz-Carlton. My favorite family vacation was in Nassau, Bahamas; we stayed at the Cable Beach Resort.
Favorite icebreaker line:
Do you guys come to this event often?
Travel hack:
My packing ways changed the moment I received suitcase organizing bags. I would recommend them to all jet-setters.
