What I do:
I manage marketing events for a SaaS financial tech company that builds world-class giving and engagement solutions.

How I got here:
I started out at 14 years old lifting speakers for a family friend, and grew curious about AV. That curiosity shifted to learning how to grab the mic and host live events. Fast forward 13 years, and I've spent time in almost every aspect of the event industry. At 18, after spending years contracting out with event leaders around Seattle, I launched my own event production company.

Impressive stats:
While managing events at a Seattle-area museum, I made an ambitious proposition to move the annual Foundations Breakfast fundraiser to one of the largest venues in the area. That year, we experienced the largest audience and most generous gifts given in the fundraiser's 15-year history. While the attendance was nearly doubled year over year, the expense remained level.

What I'm working on right now:
These last 12 long months have allowed me to completely re-tool our event catalog to deliver more meaningful content and connections. I’m thrilled to be strategizing a safe return of the in-person experience in the next six months.

What I do outside of work:
I'm changing the diapers of my two beautiful children, keeping things spicy with my wife and what little free time left is spent on a v-twin motorcycle throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Favorite vacation destination:
My favorite vacation is the local vacation—no planes, trains or removing my shoes. The Heathman Hotel, in Kirkland, Wash., has a special place in my heart. When my son was born, he was in the NICU for a short stay. The Heathman staff made sure that we had a place to stay close to the hospital and created an absolute memorable experience for us while providing all the comfort they could.

Favorite icebreaker line:
What did you have for dinner last night?

Travel hack:
Be in tune with yourself. If you aren't your best self, your event will suffer. I never travel without melatonin, laxatives, good shoes and my pillow. TMI? Probably. Also, knowing where to find the local brewery is a good start.
