Chris Bonnett, CHIA, CMP, describes himself as a foodie, Excel-whiz and confident. Learn more about him.
What I do: I plan and mange corporate meetings ranging in size from 20 to 3,000 attendees. My main responsibilities include housing management, meeting logistics, and client relations. As an employee of a third-party agency, I work with different clients including pharmaceutical, retail, and high technology.
How I got here: I started in the attendee registration department with my company two years ago after being referred by an industry colleague. I was recently promoted in October 2019 to the program management team. My CMP designation greatly helped me get the salary and position that I have now.
Impressive stats: I successfully managed a 6,000-room night hotel block at five hotels in a foreign country.
What I do outside of work: I currently serve on the MPI Georgia Board as the vice president of education. I love attending festivals related to food, drink, or music. I truly enjoy solo travel— I take at least one trip per year and collect coffee mugs from every new city/country that I travel to.
