What I do: I source more than 100 dance conventions and incentive retreats annually throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada in more than 75 different venues. I research venues, contract events, oversee data entry of all hotel and venue information on our website, review pickup and amend additional requests through event completion.
Impressive stats: I have contracted over 750 events and $75 million in event sales in the past eight years. Annually, I contract around 100 events, negotiating savings of hundreds of thousands of dollars each year.
Specific improvement I’ve made: When I started working in 2012 as an administrative assistant at Break the Floor Productions, the CEO was sourcing all 35 annual events and the events were small enough that there was not a specific event department organizing them. Within six months, the CEO promoted me to the company’s sole Event Planner, contracting and coordinating all the logistics for 60 annual events. This has increased each year, reaching over 120 events in 2020.
What I do outside of work: Traveling is a passion of mine. This summer, my husband and I traveled to nine countries in 70 days, from Europe to Australia and finally Asia. Highlights were backpacking in the Italian Dolomites, getting my Advanced Diver Certification in northern Bali and visiting Normandy for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day.
