What I do: I am responsible for the overall excellence and execution of the C.D. Howe Institute’s events portfolio. The C.D. Howe is the most awarded Canadian public policy think tank, and our events bring together top leaders from government, business and academia to discuss and create impact on various public policy issues. In my role, I manage the department budget, oversee the marketing strategy, determine key logistical processes, assist with fundraising and provide leadership to a team of three amazing event planners.
Greatest career accomplishment: I delivered the largest event in the Institute’s history while enrolled in a full-time course load during the evenings to complete my marketing degree (and planning another important event: my own wedding!).
Impressive stats: Since I started at the Institute, the average event attendance went up by over 30% and is continuing to grow. Our no-show rates declined by 15% as well, and we were able to maintain an event satisfaction rate of 4.9/5.
