What I do: I oversee the development and execution of IIA conference programs. This includes actively investigating and developing new opportunities for conference offerings (live and/or virtual), including partnerships and alliances as well as development of the overall content strategy. I partner with a team of four support staff.
Impressive stats: Within the past two years, conferences have sold out for the first time in the history of IIA events and have been attended by record numbers. Of particular note, the Governance, Risk and Control Conference has increased in attendance over the past two years from an average of 700 to more than 1,000 attendees.
What I am working on now: The conference team has incorporated new formats in its 2020 International Conference program to include: Speaker Studio Experience, Soundbite Sessions, Case-based learning, Tools and Techniques, and Point/Counterpoint. Prior to my arrival, programming was not representative of leading practices in adult learning.
