What I do: Right now, I’m mostly focusing on being a brand ambassador for Mindful Meeting Pros because we are such a young company, even though my business partner and I both have more than 15 years of experience in the industry. While I still fully support my clients with their meeting needs, over the past year I have really begun to embrace new networking interactions, especially those that allow me to give back to my local community. This has really cultivated a lot of new brand recognition for us.
How I got here: When the changes to commission structures for independent planners began in 2018, instead of following the path of many of my industry peers and feeling defeated, drained or helpless, I decided to partner up and form my own brand. Having a background in hotel management, financial planning, meeting planning, and sales; it all lead to creating our own unique company, allowing us the ability to continue doing what we love, but more on our own terms.
Impressive stats: In our first year, MMP booked 45,000 room nights, worth over $8 Million in guest room revenue.
What I do outside of work: I’m on the leadership team for our local BNI chapter. We formed a new chapter in May 2019 and I’m on the membership committee. I help with cross-chapter local meet-ups. I attend local Rotary meetings, although not a member, I enjoy the organization’s philanthropic values.
